A fast and scalable approach to controlling 100 qubits and more
Thiele, Tobias - Zurich Instruments AG, Zurich, Switzerland
Presentation on Thursday, April 29, 2021, noon
Location: Virtual Seminars over Zoom Until Further Notice
Even as the technology of quantum computing continues to make great progress, scalability remains a challenge. In this talk, we will share our ideas on how to tackle the main difficulties that quantum computing research groups face when scaling up their systems, with a focus on superconducting and spin qubits. We will discuss two key ways in which quantum computing systems have to scale up, namely, in terms of the number of qubits and in terms of the complexity of gate sequences. These two aspects - sequence complexity and number of qubits - are associated with different hurdles, and we will talk about our approach to overcoming the difficulties arising in both scenarios.
