Near-term Challenges in Superconducting Quantum Computation
O'Brien, Kevin - Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Presentation on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018, 7 a.m.
Location: MIT Room 26-214
Superconducting circuits are one of the most promising platforms for quantum computation. We detail some of the challenges, both fundamental and technological, which must be overcome for superconducting circuits to be a viable platform for large scale quantum computations. We will discuss how quantum engineering, quantum metamaterials, and nonlinear dynamics may provide solutions solutions to critical problems such as low noise amplification, isolation, and improving quantum coherence.
